| CGWB Organises training on ‘Water level menitoring’ | | |

Samba, Mar 8: Central Ground Water Board(CGWB), Minister of Water Resources, (Govt of India) North Western Region Jammu today organized a two days training programme which commenced here today at Jyoti Palace Vijaypur, Block Vijaypur District Samba J&K.
Balbir Singh District Panchayat Officer as special invitee and Choudary Noor Alam Block Development Officer who was guest of honour jointly inaugurated the occasion which witnessed a large gathering of 200 sarpanches, panches and village level workers
The objective of the said training propgramme was to make people aware about ground water scenario of the Block problems faced by the villagers and participatory monitoring of ground water levels by the panchayats.
The Panchayats of Block would be able to monitor the water level of the wells fortnightly at least 10 Nos of wells. Speakers on this occasion said that to monitoring ground level the Central Ground Water Board is providing TDS meter for quality test of water and Water level measuring tape to each Panchayat for their convenience and expert available if need arises .
The data would be submitted to respective Blocks where the department has proposal to set up Water information Centres.
