| Teachers have pivotal role in transformation of the Society: Tara Chand | | Asks teachers to come upto the expectations of people | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today urged upon teaching fraternity to come up to the expectations of the people by utilizing their experience, skills and qualification for the welfare of society. Mr. Tara Chand assured the teachers who perform well shall be awarded while stern action shall be taken against the poor performers. He directed for constituting a committee which shall examine the teachers on the basis of their performance during last three years. This was stated by Mr. Tara Chand while responding to the demands put forth by the various deputations of Teachers forum, Lecturers forum and other representatives who called upon the Deputy Chief Minister at Winter Secretariat here today. To streamline the education policy for restructuring the quality education and better results, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government has set up a panel of educationists to give suggestions for framing an education policy for the State and directions have been already given to constitute a committee for recommendations in this regard. Responding to the demands put forth by the deputationists regarding the transfer of Lecturers, Teachers and Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, the Deputy Chief Minister said that their demands shall be looked into on priority. He also said that the period of service rendered by the teachers in remote and far-flung areas shall be curtailed by one year. The Deputy Chief Minister said that teaching is a noble profession and teachers are the nation builders so they should deliver their best with dedication and devotion and come up to the expectations of the society. While hailing the efforts and steps taken by Mr. Tara Chand in reforming the School Education department all the representatives unanimously said that Mr. Tara Chand has actually taken steps on ground rather than hallow promises. They said that various issues including departmental promotions which were a long pending demand of teachers, Masters and Incharge lecturers have been fulfilled. The Director, School Education, Kashmir, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Rather was also present on the occasion. |
