| Missing Chatroo girl recovered from Anantnag | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Apr 8: Police today claimed to have recovered a young (21yrs) girl from Anantnag of Kashmir Province after reportedly went missing from her home two week ago. A missing case already stands registered at Police Station Chatroo in this matter. According to police sources, the family members of Santoshi Devi of Sangpora Chatroo approached the Police Station Chatroo with alleging one Irshad Ahmed Rishi s/o Bashir Ahmed Rishi of Sangpora Chatroo had abducted her. "On the bases of the complaint from the family members of missing girl, concerned police registered an FIR No 5 u/s 366/109 against accused and started its investigation, they added. Sources said that during the course of the investigation, Chatroo police received information from its reliable sources about presence of the accused in Kashmir and accordingly police party led by Sub Inspector (SI) Ali Imran Butt under the supervision of SHO police Station Chatroo Farooq Ahmed Khateeb and DySP DAR Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed rushed to valley and recovered the missing girl alongwith her abductor. During preliminary questioning of both Santoshi Devi and Irshad Ahmed, it came to the fore that both had solemnized marriage registered with Register of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Meantime police shifted both Irshad Ahmed and Santoshi Devi to Kishtwar and the duo is expected to be produced in the court for proper disposal of the FIR registered against the accuse by the family members of the girl. Sources also said that girl reportedly has converted her religion as Ashia Banoo before the marriage being solemnized. Pertinently Sangpora Chatroo locals held a protest on Sunday against the police alleging it for failing in tracing the missing girl even after the lapse of two weeks. It the protest of locals following which police detained the father of the accused for questioning and perhaps it was him who confirmed the information received by the police about alleged abductor in Anantnag Kashmir, sources added. |
