JAMMU: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Service and Sports, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din today urged the youth to maintain sports spirit and play with zeal and dedication for ensuring healthy mind in a healthy body. The Minister was addressing an impressive function at M.A Stadium organized by J&K Volley Ball Association in connection with final match played between J&K Police and Raman Volley ball club. He said that Government has taken up several measures for popularizing sports among youth by launching various schemes for development of sports spirit both in urban and rural areas of the State. He hoped that such activities shall boost the morale of youth to take up sports in addition to other academic ventures. Earlier, Raj Daluja welcomed the Chief Guest and said that 16 teams participated in the tournament which was kickstarted on 6th instant. A spectacular final volleyball match was played in which Raman Volleyball club clinched the trophy while as J&K Police bagged runners up trophy. MLA, Bishnah, Ashwani Sharma, MLC, Poonch, Jehangir Mir, Secretary Sports Council Mr. Dilip Thussu and a large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion. |
