et plus report JAMMU, Apr 8: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) today registered an impressive eight wickets over School of Biotechnology in the ongoing inter-department Twenty20 cricket tournament of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Biotechnology set a target of 106 runs for four in 16 overs game. In reply, SHTM chased the total in 11.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Vishawdeep made highest 30 runs, followed by Maroof and Wasim, who contributed 14 and 13 runs respectively. Gourav added 12 runs to the total. From SHTM, Rakesh and Aamir shared one wicket each. Batting second, SHTM overhauled the opponent total making 108 runs in 11.2 overs losing two wickets. Arun Sharma and Rakesh were top scorers with 34 and 24 runs in their respective accounts while Tanvir added 17 runs. Imran and Mukul were the wicket takers from Biotechnology. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Department of Education defeated Department of Hindi by five wickets. Batting first, Hindi bowled out for 101 runs in 18.5 overs. Sanjay Kumar (25), Ravinder (16) and Ravi Kumar (17) were main contributors to the score. From Education, Hakim Ashfaq and Jagbir Singh claimed four wickets each. In reply, Department of Education attained the goal in 17.2 overs with five wickets in hand. Hakim Ashfaq remained top scorer with 25 runs while S Malik and Tariq added 14 and 11 runs respectively. Today's matches were officiated by Vijay Dogra, Raj Kumar and Jagtar Singh while Sat Pal was scorer. |
