DDC reviews development works in Doda

DODA, June 4 : District Development Commissioner, Doda, Mubarak Singh today convened a meeting of district officers to review the ongoing development activities besides discussing strategies for further streamlining of the functioning of government offices.
Additional District Development Commissioner, G.N Balwan, Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Yassir Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Niraj Kumar, Chief Education Officer, M.A Rather, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ajay Gupta besides Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Doda, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Doda and other senior officers attended the meeting. While addressing the meeting, the DDC enjoined upon the officers to strengthen work culture in their respective offices and ensure punctuality of their staff to ensure time bound redressal of public grievances.
He said habitual absentees and non-performing officers and officials shall face disciplinary action under Law. The DDC asked the officers to project big and enthusiastic projects with a long term optimistic vision for sustainable and multifaceted development and upliftment of poor people of the district in the ensuing DDB meeting. He said the recent earthquake of 1st May 2013, has made the District Administration and other line departments especially in engineering sector to think and plan for the long term and durable existence of Government as well as public property in the region. He asked the officers to ensure that relief and rehabilitation benefits reaches down to each and every affected family in the district.
The DDC directed the Engineering Departments especially JKPCC and PHE to speed up the pace of construction and tendering works on different infrastructure development projects in the district for their time bound completion. He also directed the officers to visit rural areas on regular basis for effective implementation of development programmes. He directed Agriculture Officers to mobilize their field functionaries and make concrete efforts for development of mushroom culture, Cash Crops and Poly House in rural areas.
The DDC also directed the Chief Animal Husbandry officer to create awareness among the people especially people living in far flung and rural areas about the schemes and programmes of the department so that benefits reach to the targeted population. He said the area has a huge potential of sheep and goat rearing which needs to be fully utilised.
