SRINAGAR, June 4: Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Sheikh Ejaz Iqbal, this morning, flagged off an Eco-March at Boulevard in presence of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Director Ecology Environment and Remote Sensing Mr. Suresh Chugh. The Eco-March was organized by the Department of Ecology Environment and Remote Sensing in connection with celebration of the World Environment Day falling on June 5, 2013. This year the theme is “Think, Eat, Save, Reduce Your Food-Print”. The Eco-March was aimed to create awareness among the people regarding the Environmental issues in the state. About 300 students of 15 schools, teachers, environmentalist, youth and conservation conscious citizens participated in the rally. The participants carried banners and placards highlighting the environment concerns that are affecting the state of J&K. |
