Several deputations call on Mir

JAMMU : Several Deputations met Minister for Agriculture and Production, Ghulam Hussan Mir , here today at Summer Secretariat and projected the demands and problems. A deputation of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) met the Minister and raised specific issues which included unscheduled power cuts, poor water supply, insanitation, lack of civic amenities at Jagti township. The deputation also demanded regular release of salary of migrant employees, besides other benefits. Revision of migrant electoral roll, filling of remaining posts under Prime Minister package announced in the year 2008 and implementation of new package for KPs by the state government.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and said that the government was committed to redress the problems of every section of the society, particularly with regard to the provision of essential services and basic amenities. He assured that their genuine demands would be sympathetically looked into. The Minster also convened a meeting with Gramin Bank authorities and directed to expedite the processing of Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) so that the farmers can avail maximum benefit of the welfare schemes launched by the state and centre government. He asked the bank authorities to be people friendly and provide loan facility to the people associated with this prioritized sector without any hassle. He stressed for organizing awareness camps and seminars to educate people associated with agriculture and allied sectors about the benefits of various schemes. He appreciated the dynamic approach of the bank towards identification of deserving people and timely disbursement of Kissan Credit Cards and loans. Another deputation of Jammu Chamber of Commerce, Industry (CCI), besides traders and hoteliers association, led by senior Vice President, Mr. Sham Lal Langer, met with the Minster and discussed the issue of shifting of General Bus Stand to ISBT at Narwal and Khanpura at Nagrota. The traders apprised that the shifting of the bus stand would badly affect the trade in Jammu city and also cause inconvenience to passengers.
They stressed on to continue with the present practice of dropping and picking of the passengers at the existing Bus Stand by the buses and then go for idle parking to ISBT. He assured the deputation that the matter would be discussed with concerned ministry for finding an amicable solution of the problem. Similarly, a deputation from Panjgrian Nagrota (Narka) met the Minister and apprised him about the poor power scenario in their area. The deputation informed that the transformer installed in the locality was lying defunct for last one month due to which people are badly suffering.
