KATHUA : Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh convened a public grievances camp to take stock of demands and problems of the people here on Tuesday. A number of deputations hailing from various tehsils of Kathua projected their demands and grievances including better road connectivity, safe drinking water, proper power supply, old age pension, widow pension and scholarships, delay in MGNREGA payments etc. The MP assured the deputationists that all their issues would be looked into for an early redressal. Lal Singh, while addressing the gathering, said Center government headed by Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh is committed to strengthen PRI’S in the state for development of rural areas. He said that government has launched several innovative steps to raise socioeconomic status of rural people by providing them all basic amenities under different programmes like Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, MGNREGA, PMGSY, NRHM, RMSA etc. He appealed the youth to avail employment opportunities being provided under Sher-e-Kashmir Employment & Welfare Programme for the Youth (SKEWPY). He also asked the Panchs and Sarpanchs to work honestly for development and progress of their respective areas. Lal Singh, while interacting with deputation, of Rehri & Fariwala’s who were evicted from busy Mukherjee Chowk to make the chowk free from traffic congestion assured that their mater will be taken up with the district administration. |
