SRINAGAR, June 4: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah who is on an extensive tour to Kupwara constituency today conducted various Awami Darbars and took stock of the people’s problems in regard to drinking water, electricity, road projects, health care, transport, irrigation and other basic amenities. The people from all walks of life projected their demands before the visiting Minister. The Minister assured the people that their demands will be solved in phase manner. The Minister on the spot issued instructions to the concerned officers to resolve these problems. During the tour several people’s deputations met the Minister. The Minister took stock of the ongoing development works under construction in the constituency. He was informed that Rs 2.50 crore are being spent in the irrigation sector in the constituency at Rashi Baba and Rs 3 crore are being spent in the Municipal Committee Kupwara and Rs 12.37 crores under R&B sector in the district. While reviewing the sector wise development works he impressed upon the officers to work with zeal, dedication and in a coordinated manner. The Minister directed the R&B, RDD, Irrigation, Forest, SWD to settle the issues with forest department and go ahead to complete the ongoing projects within a stipulated time frame. The Minister was also informed that street lights are being made functional and handed over to the concerned for its maintenance within a weeks’ time. He impressed upon the concerned to implement the schemes under the guidelines of the Government, and complete the projects within the time frame. Earlier, the DDC Kupwara gave resume of the development activities in the District. |
