SRINAGAR, June 4: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora today visited Chandpora, Shalimar to oversee the demarcation and fencing work going on at the 526 kanal and 10 marla land acquired by Lakes and Water Ways Development Authority (LAWDA).
The Minister was accompanied by Superintending Engineer (LAWDA) Mr. S.K. Koul, Executive Engineer, Mr. O.P. Atri, Collector, LAWDA and senior officers of LAWDA. The Minister was apprised that 526 kanals and 10 marla land was acquired by LAWDA and fencing and demarcation work has been completed.
On the occasion the Minister was informed that the Department is taking necessary steps to demarcate all the land belonging to LAWADA and assured the Minister that nobody would be allowed to encroach upon the land of LAWDA.
Mr. Jora asked the officers to work with zeal and dedication and make efforts to make the famous Dal Lake pollution free and nobody should allowed to dump any kind of garbage into the lake. |
