SRINAGAR, June 4: A meeting of the Committee on Estimates (EC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Health and Medical Education was held today under the Chairmanship of Dr. Mustafa Kamal which stressed upon the health authorities to make health sector more dedicated and responsible to the people of the State. Syed Naeem Akhter Indrabi, Syed Rafiq Shah, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Surjeet Singh Salathia, Nizamu-din-Bhat and Ashwani Kumar gave their valuable suggestions to improve the functioning of the Department and raised the issues related to health facilities in the district and sub district hospitals in the State especially rural and far flung areas. The Committee directed the health authorities to ensure availability of essential drugs and equipment’s in all hospitals and health institutions of the State so that people do not face any inconvenience during their hospitalization. The Committee also stressed upon the concerned authorities to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing projects and complete them in the stipulated time frame. Commissioner-Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Mr. Shaleen Kabra briefed the Committee about the overall functioning of the Department. Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director Health Services Jammu, senior officers of health department besides Special Secretary, Legislative Assembly, officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting. |
