| ‘Corruption has been officially recognized at CBJ' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Raghubir Singh Chib General Secretary INTUC Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman RAC Central Board for Workers education expressed grave concern over the deteriorated law and order condition in Cantonment Board Jammu (CBJ). According to press release, Chib said that it seems that the corruption has been officially recognized in the CBJ. "A racket for use of medicines without Labels of expiry dates was going on in the G B Pant Hospital, under the management of Jammu Cantonment and under a underhand criminal conspiracy", he said, adding that the racket was exposed and got stopped by himself and a seizer memo was also prepared but no action was taken by the Management. "The seizer memo was demanded by him under the RTI action, but neither the RTI question nor the first appeal could get him a copy of the seizer report. The orders for providing seizer memo copy to me were however issued by the Chief Information Commission RTI on July 25, 2013 and it took nearly 3 months to obtain the information", he said. He further said that this racket of expired medicines was second in nature, but of the modus of operandi was the same. In the earlier racket also in which expired medicines costing Rs.3.20 lacs were destroyed without holding any inquiry and without pin pointing the responsibility for rendering the medicines expired dated. "Even the mandatory procedure laid down by the Government for destruction of the medicines was not adopted properly. Three encroachments on defence land and one more that too on defence land cum war grave yard. No notice does appear to have been given to the encroacher and more than four months have passed after encroachment", he alleged, adding that huge bribe does appear to have been taken underhand. |
