| Leopard mauls aged lady | | |

Kishtwar July 29: An aged woman was mauled by a leopard at Samsar Top today who was later evacuated to nearby health institution for advance medicare by the troops of 8Rashtriya Rifles deployed in the area, sources said. " 70 year lady identified namely as Ashbi Begum w/o Mohammed Sultan Mir r/o Nagnigaed Keshwan in Kishtwar District was attacked by a leopard at Samsar Top today at around 9.30 am, sources said. They added after hearing her cries the relatives and locals rushed to the spot along with troops of 8 RR, however the beast hearing the locals noise left the lady in injured condition. "Troops of 8 RR immediately called a medical team from nearby RR Camp and after giving her necessary first aid, the army men showing a great deal of concerns carried critically injured women on a stretcher covering atleast 10 KM upto Sirgwari for her treatment from where she was shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for advance treatment. Range Officer Wildlife Department Kishtwar also visited the District Hospital Kishtwar and assured all possible help to the critically injured lady. |
