JAMMU, Aug 5: 'Mother The Nature' launched 'Campus Green Drive' at Sant Mela Singh College of Education Digiana today.
The drive was launched under the initiative of Director General of the Organization S S Bijral.
Speaking on the occasion, S S Bijral highlighted the relationship between life and the green cover of earth. Citing the famous spiritual philosopher Khalil Gibran famous quote ' If you want to experience God, look at the tree and say aah…', he said trees silently serve the life on the planet as does the Almighty and largely are responsible for maintenance of natural balance. He reminded that deforestation is mainly responsible for the havoc we witnessed lately at Uttrakhand.
T.B Singh, DFO Urban Forestry Jammu who participated in strength with staff highlighted the need for students to resolve to undertake after plantation care of the saplings for success of this great drive launched by Mother the Nature.
Anmol Singh, Chairman of the college and Kiran Luthra, principal of the College also addressed the gathering.
