early times report Srinagar, Aug 5: State Congress leaders Monday held a meeting at party headquarters here where they requested the minister from the party to boycott the cabinet meetings in the wake of allegations levelled by Additional General Secretary of National Conference Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal against the Congress leadership. Senior Vice President State Congress and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga said that Kamaal's statements are against the coalition dharma and he should apologise unconditionally for his baseless outbursts time and again against the Congress leadership. "If Kamaal won't apologise, it will widen the cracks within the coalition. State Congress chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz is being respected everywhere and we can't tolerate anybody levelling false allegations against him," he said. "We can go to any extent if someone talks against the Congress and our president," he said and claimed that National Conference has failed to control Kamaal who is time and again issuing useless and baseless statements against the Congress. A Congress spokesperson in a statement said Abdul Gani Khan, Anayatullah Rather, Farooq Andrabi, Syed Yaseen Shah, Zahid Hussain Jan, Master Mohammad Maqbool, Gulam Mohammad Shiekh, Khursheed Ahmad Zargar, Nissar Ahmad Khan and others attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion Congress leaders strongly condemned abusive utterances of Kamaal against its senior leaders. "Kamaal should know that they are in power because of the Congress and he should go for self introspection instead of accusing Congress leadership. Congress is a secular party having history of more than 125 years, it is people's party," he said. The Congress leaders demanded that Kamaal should be expelled from the NC "as he is a big threat to coalition government." |
