| Police recover 20 kg bhukki, 2 arrested | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Aug 5: Police today recovered 20 kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki) and arrested two persons from whose possession the contraband was seized at Janglote Morh near here.
According to police sources, a police party of Police Station Kathua during routine patrolling apprehended two persons namely Aqab son of Mohd Yousuf and Ishfaq Ahmad son of Gh. Qadir, both residents of Tral, Awantipora at Janglote Morh after their suspicious movement. During search of the duo, police recovered 20 Kgs of Poppy Straw from their possession.
A case FIR No. 295/2013 under section 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against the arrested accused and investigation was on. Meanwhile, a police party of P/S Kathua during specific information conducted a raid at Shaheedi Chowk and apprehended one person identified as Parshotam Lal alias Bukka son of Dev Raj of Chhan Rorian, Hiranagar and recovered 60 nips of J&K Excise liquor from his possession.
A case FIR No.296/2013 under section 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered against the arrested person. |
