SAMBA, Aug 5: District Development Commissioner, Samba, R.K Varma, today convened a district officers meeting to review the preparedness and arrangements for ensuing 66th Independence Day celebrations at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Ground, Kehli Mandi, Samba where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolor and take salute of the march past contingents. The DDC directed the R&B, Police, Traffic, Education, Revenue, Municipality, Health, Police, Traffic, Security, PHE, PDD, Youth Services & Sports authorities to monitor the preparedness, arrangements with regard to seating arrangements, barricading, invitation of guests, refreshment to school children, transport, electricity, drinking water, security, march past, medicare, face-lifting, cultural items etc. It was also decided that a colorful cultural programme will be presented by the School Children on the occasion. The Fire Services department was asked to ensure availability of sufficient number of fire tenders to meet any eventuality. The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness in Samba especially in and around the Higher Secondary School Ground, Kehli Mandi, Samba, besides illumination on roads as well as Government buildings. The DDC directed the traffic authorities for smooth plying of traffic and making special parking arrangements for VVIP vehicles. He also instructed the health authorities for providing ambulance and other medical facilities. The Police and Traffic departments were asked to make security and traffic arrangements for the convenience of general public. Additional Deputy Commissioner, R.K Shavan, Assistance commissioner (Revenue), M.Y Malik, Assistance Commissioner Development, Pardeep Manhas besides other District and Sectoral officers attended the meeting. |
