Katra/Jammu, Aug 5: Police today arrested four gamblers and seized stake money upto Rs25000/- from a spot raided today in Katra while two more gamblers were arrested in a locality falling under jurisdiction of Police Station Gharota.
As per police reports, Katra police arrested four gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 25000 during a raid at an isolated spot near Sports Stadium Katra here today.
"On specific information Katra police conducted the raid and arrested four gamblers on spot, police said, adding, "Accused have been identified as Subash Chander of Sundranni, Rajesh Kumar of Pathankote, Ramesh Kumar of Udhampur and Ranjeet Kumar of village Bagh Kotli." The accused have been booked under 15 gambling act, police said.
Meanwhile Police claimed to have arrested two gamblers and seized Rs 1700 stake money from the spot besides playing cards.
"Police party led by SHO Garota Jatinder Singh Sambyal on specific information raided a isolated spot in the area and arrested two gamblers identified as Tanveer Singh s/o Janak Singh and Prushotam Lal s/o Sardari Lal, both residents of Chak Singha, police said. besides playing cards also seized stake money of Rs 1700 from the spot.
A case in this connection under appropriate section stands registered at concerned police station. |
