| Gupta holds Kichloo responsible for Kishtwar violence | | Demands probe by a sitting HC judge | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 10: Congress MLC Naresh Gupta today hit hard at MoS Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo by holding him responsible for the Kishtwar clashes. He also demanded a high level probe into the clashes by a sitting high court judge. Gupta said the MoS remained a mute spectator to the violence, delayed imposition of curfew to facilitate rioting for more than six hours. In a statement Saturday, Gupta demanded a high level probe by a sitting High Court judge. "How rioters got guns and who provided arms to them?", he questioned. He said the MOS Home Sajjad Kitchloo was stated to be the mastermind behind the attack and his role should be thoroughly probed. Commenting on the rioting, Gupta said why the district administration failed to impose curfew restrictions and why army was not allowed to take over and deal with the law and order situation in time to prevent flare up of violence. He said it was unfortunate even the pilgrims heading towards Machail yatra were targeted. He demanded to restore the confidence of the minorities the state government should immediately provide relief to the affected population. He also appealed to maintain communal harmony in the area. |
