| To protest early marriage, VDC member's son commits suicide | | | Rajouri, Aug 10: A young driver upset over settlement of his marriage by the parents at their own without his consent committed suicide with gun issued by the police on the name of his father. The concerned police have started inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC in this matter.
Reports from the area said, the incident took place in Daraj village in Budhal tehsil and the deceased has been identified namely as Vikram Jeet Singh (18) s/o Chaman Lal.
Reports said, "Police has seized .303 gun and has started inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC. According to Babli Devi sister of the deceased their parents settled the marriage of her brother on Friday but he objected to marriage at this early age. "At about 8 am today we heard a gunshot from Vikram room and when family member rushed to his room he was lying in a pool of blood, she sobbingly recalled. She added family members shifted him to nearby hospital at Budhal. "From Budhal, she said, "Vikram was brought to District Hospital (DH) Rajouri where he was given five units of blood as he has lost a lot of blood due to profusely blood during being evacuated to Rajouri. "However on finding his condition deteriorating doctors at DH Rajouri preferred to Jammu the injured to GMC &H Jammu for specialized treatment but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Jammu, she added. |
