| Army celebrtes Idu’l - Fitr | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 10 : The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) organized Eid Celebration on 09 Aug 2013 with awam. The celebration was attended by over 150 civilians from various walks of life to include religious teachers, sarpanches, school teachers, social activist, representatives of civil administration and local populace from far-flung border areas of Pukharni, Kampla, Guni, Seya Ka Bagla, Rajpur Bhata and Kallar villages. On the occasion, the muslim devotees performed Namaz. The people embraced each other along with the men in uniform and exchanged greetings. The celebration included sumptuous feast from the Army to reach out to the people during the occasion.
Shri Miyan Khan, Sarpanch of Rajpur Bhata expressed that he was indeed very grateful to the Army for organizing such a gala event. He also thanked the Army for maintaining communal harmony and peace in the region. The "Eid Celebration" drew unprecedented and overwhelming response from both hindus and muslims in the Area of Responsibility. The successful completion of the event resulted in fostering closer relationship between the locals and the Army. This event will help the Army to generate better trust and goodwill amongst the masses besides winning their hearts and minds. |
