| Kishtwar Clashes: JKNPP calls for continuation of 'Jammu Bandh' till Governor Rule | | | early times report Jammu, Aug 12: In the backdrop of KIshtwar clashes which later sparked tensions across the entire Jammu region, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) calls for continuation of Jammu Bandh till Governor Rule is imposed to save brotherhood and peace. In a high power council of JKNPP leaders Prof Bhim Singh, Harsh Dev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia made a strong appeal to the people of Jammu Pradesh particularly the youth and the students to continue peaceful bandh till logical conclusion is drawn. "JKNPP has appealed to the people of Jammu Pradesh to continue peaceful bandh till the draconian government is dismissed and Governor Rule is imposed, party leadership said and added, "that is the promulgation of Governor Rule in J&K to save the people of J&K from further death and destruction.' "The communal harmony in the state stand threatened under the present coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah, they said further adding, "resignation of a Minister or transfers of district officers is nowhere near the solution of the entire problem." JKNPP condemned the draconian and authoritarian dictates of the ruling clique in J&K by resorting to highly discriminatory and anti-democracy measures i.e. all the video channels have been shut, SMS and internet services have been banned, the innocent people are being detained and officials being transferred. The Panthers Party also rejected the government's decision to hold administrative inquiry by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu into the tragic conflict that subverted peace and\ communal harmony in Kishtwar. Party reiterated its demand for holding a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge of the High Court or the Supreme Court. Meanwhile Panthers Party has also directed all its units and wings including the women wing, young panthers, NPSU, farmers council to join the battle for the security and safety of the citizens at all costs. Meantime Panthers Party held protest in front of Deputy Commissioner Office, Udhampur demanding for dismissal of Omar Govt and imposition of Governor Rules in State. Led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA State President, the protestors also blocked National Highway and also demanded for the continuation of Machel Yatra which was suspended by the state govt recently and action against those who targeted the Pilgrims.
