Canal Road residents urge Commissioner JMC to visit area
8/18/2013 11:28:18 PM
Et Report

Jammu, Aug 18: The residents of Canal Road here today alleged that the sanitary condition of Chunewali Gali (inside Ahata) and its surrounding areas has been deteriorating every passing day as the sweeper posted here does not visit the locality regularly.
"This has resulted in heaps of sweepings lying here and there attracting flies and providing breeding place for mosquitoes and also a few drains are choked due to which bad odour spreads throughout the locality," they complained and urged the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation to pay a visit of the locality and take immediate action in the matter.
The residents also alleged that the street lights in the area have also not been functioning for the last one month and some electric cable wires have gone naked at many places.
They urged the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities to get the same repaired immediately.
