| Conspiracies hatched against me by Congress: Ishfaq | | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Aug 18 : Hours after news of his joining the National Conference appeared in newspapers, the district Congress president for Ganderbal, Ishfaq Jabar has hinted to a conspiracy hatched against him in the Congress. While alleging that state congress is fragmented in to groups because of internal bickering, Jabar said that despite being a competitive aspirant for member of legislative council (MLC) he was replaced from the list of deserving candidates. During Panchayat elections of 2011 despite having support of hundreds of village heads he was also sidelined. He said. Ishfaq added that he fetched around eight thousand five hundred votes in 2002 assembly elections which according to him was a tough competition for him keeping in view the overall strength of state congress at that time and after that the pace of over all public support which he acquired over the years is only because of his personal public dealings. Talking to early times plus, Ishfaq rejected statements of joining national conference or any other mainstream political party. However he said that today after a thorough consultation with his eight district block presidents of state congress and around twelve hundred other workers at his Lar Ganderbal residence he along with his supporters is capable of contesting forthcoming assembly elections independently as well in case he does not see any better place for him in any of the regional parties. While acknowledging the statements made by senior congress leaders after the news of his joining national conference surfaced across the state, he without naming anybody added that leaders are fully aware about him. people who made statements are aware of each and everything about him including the commitments they made with him time to time not only in "Whatever Il do in near future will be based on the consensus of my supporters and choice of people in general of Ganderbal district as I cannot believe in deception and hatching conspiracies", he said. Responding to the development state congress secretary, Muhammad Sultan Mandoo said that there are many senior congress leaders available in Jammuand Kashmir to replace the voids created by the outgoing people like Ishfaq Jabar. He said that state congress cannot forget the sacrifices made by the father of Ishfaq Jabar for the welfare of state congress in general and for the people of Ganderbal constituency in particular, however now when he has made up his mind to switch over to any other political party such a move by him cannot alter the image of state congress . He informed ETP that state congress president, Saif ud din Soz is aware of the matter and we are hopeful that he will sooner react on this issue and approach Ishfaq Jabar directly or indirectly. Meanwhile according to reports received many senior N.C leaders including member of parliament Meboob Beigh, N.C provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and Ali Muhammad Sagar have welcome the decision of Ishfaq Jabar to join national conference keeping in view his previous achievements in his constituency. Besides according to sources members of peoples democratic party(PDP) are also in queue to approach him to join PDP PertinentlyIshfaq Jabar is the son in law of senior national conference leader Muhammad Syed Akhoon who had successfully contested the 2002 assembly elections from Hazratbal constituency of Srinagar district. |
