| Rumors of Jammu bandh make commoners panic | | | et report Jammu, Aug 18: The rumors of Jammu bandh on Monday have created panic among commoners especially the student community and employees. The rumor of Jammu bandh started from Sunday evening and like a wild fire it spread in each and every corner of Jammu province. Some mischievous element spread hearsay in Jammu that some Hindu youth has been stabbed by minority community besides same reports came from Srinagar that Jammu bandh call has been given by the Hindu organizations. The rumors which are rife in Jammu district like a youth has been stabed by majority community in Bhatindi, and to express anger some Hindu organizations have given a bandh call for three days. Meanwhile, SSP Jammu Atul Kumar Goel when contacted said that no such incident had ever happened in Jammu. He appealed the people of Jammu not to adhere to such rumors. A senior officer in Education department said that all the educational institutions including private and government would resume on Monday as stated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu two days ago. Pertinent to mention here that the curfew was imposed in the seven districts of Jammu for seven days following the Kishtwar incident on August 9 .While the Kishtwar is still reeling under curfew, but, the curfew of the rest of the districts was lifted. |
