Sports reporter SRINAGAR, Aug18: Jammu and Kashmir Rugby Association, in association with Indian Rugby Football Union and J&K State Sports Council, is organizing Orientation course for Physical Education Teachers (PETs) of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Bakshi Stadium, here on August 21. The course shall start from 9 am onwards under the supervision of Captain of Indian Rugby team, Nasser Hussain at Bakhshi Stadium. Meanwhile, the Association has also planned an International Rugby Course Level 1 (Rugby Ready) for senior National level players, followed by the workshop on first aid and injuries under the guidance of Nasser Hussain and Physio of Indian team, Dr Aijaz Ashai on August 22 at the same venue. In all, 24 teams drawn from different states of the country are expected to participate in this league-cum-knock out competition. "To prepare the host J&K team, the Association has already organised a 10-day coaching camp at the Polo Ground here under the guidance of experts in the field," organizing secretary of the championship, Mohd Iqbal said. Pertinent to mention here that the Rugby has gained popularity in Kashmir with the result the State Sports Council provided the recognition to the sports body in the state. |
