| Educational institutions including JU to re-open in Jammu today: DC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: After a gap of nine days the educational institutions including Jammu University will reopen in Jammu on Monday bringing back the much needed normalcy in the region. Even after the curfew restrictions during the day were lifted in Jammu on Augsut 15 the pace of life was still missing and not much activity was witnessed. The tourist traffic which had hit rock bottom during the days of curfew has started picking pace now. The general life had taken a major hit in the region after the violence rocked Kishtwar district on August 9. A general bandh call a day later stoked up passions in the otherwise peaceful district forcing the district authorities to impose curfew restrictions . On Sunday as senior ministers in the Omar Abdullah govt reached out to the people in Kishtwar hopes were raised that normalcy would soon be restored there too . Meanwhile, rumor mongering ahead of reopening of educational institutions went on throughout the day on sunday in Jammu with people making frantci calls to different school authorities and teachers whether the school are going to be open on Monday or there is a fresh bandh call. No one exactly knew anything about the origin of rumor but they all multiplied the confusion forcing the district authorities to issue a statement all educational institutions including Jammu University will reopen in Jammu on Monday August 19, 2013.
