Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 30: As the Jammu boy Anmol Jaswal has made it to the finals of Grand Finale of Indian Idol Junior, the Chief Minister has not uttered a single word of appreciation. The Chief Minister has been accused of nurturing double standards. "Had a boy from Kashmir achieved the feat, the situation would have been different," said an agitated youth. But Anmol is not a Kashmiri as he belongs to Jammu. This Chief Minister is mum for past two months, when Anmol made it to Indian Idol junior and reached the top four of the singing show. Anmol's father, Surpal Jaswal and people of Jammu had been appealing the Chief Minister to lift the ban on short message service (SMS) on pre-paid mobile phones so that people can vote for Anmol, but there was no reply from this Valley centric politician. Anmol has been facing the dearth of votes as other contestants, belonging to rest of country are getting many votes as there is no ban on SMS on pre-paid mobile phones. Now, people of Jammu are trying hard to enable the son of soil to win the Indian Idol junior title and almost every post-paid mobile customer is voting with open heart for this Jammu boy, who has made them proud. It is for the first time any Jammu and Kashmir boy has made it to the top four of Indian Idol junior show and at a time when support was needed for him, the J&K Government has taken a backstep, not only backstep but they are unaware of any such development, because Anmol doesn't belong to Kashmir valley, which is his biggest drawback. But people of Jammu are well aware of this and will try hard to help Anmol to win the singing reality show and give Omar Abdullah a great reply that without his cooperation, Jammu people can reach to the top of the world. |
