| Politician, social activists, poets hail 'Food Security Bill' | | | Arun Trishal
Kathua, Aug 31: Manohar Singh Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) hailed union government for bringing the "Food Security Bill to ensure food security permanently to the people of the country. He said it was biggest bill in the world which virtually makes food constitutional and fundamental right in the country due to which the starvation and hunger could be strictly dealt. Welcoming historical bill, he demanded a provision for the farmers to buy their produce by the Govt. itself so that they could not be harmed at any cost. "The bill has been brought into force as per the dream slogan of the Congress "Garibi Hatao" and its visionary socialistic approach", he said, adding that the next course of action to bring the bill in practice for eligible public use was very serious concerns for all the social thinkers, workers and responsible administration. He urged to all the responsible citizens of the country to be united and vigilant to make this bill more useful and effective to the people of the country. Rattan Chand Karotra, senior congress leader welcomed the Path breaking and historical step which was taken by the UPA under the leadership Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to pass the world's biggest Food Security Bill. Karotra said that the bill which seeks to ensure the subsidized food to 75% of rural and half of the urban population which is a justified and rational eligibility set by the government. He demanded that the bill should be brought into the Jammu and Kashmir state as soon as possible so that the people of the state could take the advantages of this dynamic fundamental right. Renu Padha, a poet and writer said the Food Security in the India was the burning problem which has been prevailing since long and the majority of the people of the country were not in a state to afford even two times food. "The balanced diet is no question far, but the initiative taken by the UPA Government to give the Food security, is the biggest task which no governments in the world has done for their people of their respective countries so far", she said, adding that the food security bill would be a solid instrument to free the people from the brutal clutches of starvation and hunger. She said if we see the victims of hunger and starvation then we come to the conclusion that most of the hunger victims are children and females so by this Right to Food act which is being brought into force with the efforts of UPA Chairperson Madam Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh no doubt the females and children would be more beneficiaries than others so this bill is widely accepted and honored by the women community of the country. Saroj Bala, writer and Poet widely welcomed the Food Security Bill which has become now as a fundamental right of food which is the need of the hour to curb the curse of hunger and starvation in the country which crossed the shocking limit. She appreciated the Sonia Gandhi and PM Manmohan Singh who made their lot of efforts to bring this historical bill in the favour of Indian Masses, and said this according to the bill 82 crores of Indian people would be benefited and according to which eligible households would get 5 Kg of food grains per persons every month, Rs.3, a Kg for rice, Rs.2 a kilo for wheat and Rs 1 a kilo for coarse grains. |
