| Communal Harmony Yatra | | NPP supremo interacts with Kishtwar Bar, civil society | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar Aug 31: The Communal Harmony Yatra (Bhaichara Yatra) led by National Panthers Party (NPP) supreme Prof Bhim Singh met different sections of the society late last evening and this morning in connection with the tension which was created by unfortunate riots on August 9 in Kishtwar. Prof Singh who is also senior Executive Member of the Supreme Court of Bar Association (SCBA) interacted with the members of the Kishtwar Bar Association and interacted with them seeking their opinion on the present situation. Several members of the Bar agreed with the leader of the Communal Harmony Yatra that communal harmony is the soul of democracy and every member of a civilized society has obligation to strengthen the national integration in the interest of the nation as a whole. The Kishtwar Bar members also appreciated the efforts of Prof Singh to take up the cause of the suffering people of Kishtwar before the Supreme Court and hoped that justice shall be delivered to everybody. The members of the Bar Association regretted that they did not have sufficient place though the entire complex can accommodate the sessions' court if the accommodation vacated by the office of Deputy Commissioner is provided to them. The Communal Harmony Yatra also visited the families of two local residents who died during riots on August 9. Prof Singh and the yatra team expressed their condolences to the family of Arvind Bhagat who was the son ex-serviceman and killed during the riots. Prof Singh also visited the family of Bashir Ahmed who left his wife, a son (school student) and two daughters (college students) in Kishtwar. The Panthers Party activists led by Prof Singh and was accompanied by NPP Chairman and MLA Harsh Dev Singh, MLAs Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpaul Kundal and others. |
