Jammu, Aug 31: Member, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee Gambhir Dev Singh Charak today said that during inspections of Jammu railway station along with Gurnam Singh Member DRUCC, they observed that the infrastructure of 1972 was still being used with hardly any addition to it. He further said that keeping all these facts in mind they took up all the important issues with Chairman Passenger Services Committee and his team which recently visited Jammu railway station and conducted an inspection. The issues which were taken up with the authorities including opening of new reservation counters, general ticket counters, proper sheds at platforms, beside others. They further said that there was urgent need of additional platforms at Jammu railway station, replace DMU with EMU and its composition should be increased from 6 boogies in number to 12 boogies as soon as possible. In response to the demands the Chairman assured that very soon additional staff would be deployed to meet the deficiency of staff at reservation counters so as to make maximum number of reservation counters functional. |
