early times report JAMMU, Aug 31: The two-day 3rd District Level Science Exhibition-2013 under innovation in science pursuit for inspire research (INSPIRE) award scheme of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, organized by DIET Jammu took off here today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar . A total of 88 models of district Jammu and 39 of district Samba were displayed in the exhibition by the students of different schools of the two districts who have received inspire award warrant of Rs.5000 each for the year-2013. Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal SIE Jammu, H R Pakhroo was the chief guest on at the valedictory function. The chief guest was highly impressed by the hard work put in by the students in the exhibition and appreciated their scientific skills and talent. In this exhibition five students in each district were selected on merit basis for participating further in the state level exhibition. Principal, DIET, Jammu, Arif Iqbal Malik in his welcome address said that INSPIRE Scheme has proved highly beneficial for a large number of students who are studying in far flung areas and unable to perform their skills and talent on their own. A Colourful culture programme was also presented by the students of GHSS Shastri Nagar, GHSS Nowadad and GHSS Canal Road at the valedictory function. |
