KATHUA, Sept 2: To listen to the grievances and demands of the people, the Member Parliament Choudhary Lal Singh convened a Public Grievances Camp here today at his residence.
The Panchs, Sarpanchs and General Public put forth their demands and grievances before the Member Parliament regarding road connectivity, electricity, drinking water, ration, inclusion of genuine poor families in the BPL list etc.
The MP listened to the problems and grievances of the public representatives and assured early redressal of the same.
While speaking on the occasion, Ch Lal Singh said that UPA government, headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, was committed for the welfare and upliftment of poor people. He said that in order to ensure food to all citizens' government has recently passed Food Security Bill. He said similarly government is bringing Land Acquisition Bill to safeguard the interest of the farmers. He said that PRIs are the important part of the democracy and central government is keen to strengthen these to achieve empowerment of people at the grass root level.
He said that 74th amendment regarding Panchayati Raj has been implemented in J&K State to strengthen the Panchayats. He appealed the panchs and sarpanchs to monitor the working of the departments bought under the ambit of Panchayats for the welfare of rural masses. |
