SRINAGAR, Sept 2: The Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of state government employees today intensified its agitation against the state government in support of their demands. The JCC announced a three day agitation programme starting from September 9 and vowed to carry forward their agitation as long as their demands are not met by the state government.
Sharing his views with Early Times, JCC leader Mohammad Gafoor Dar said that the state government employees would protest against the non-fulfillment of their demands on September 9. Gafoor said that all the employees would suspend their work on September 10 and 11 and complete strike would be observed on these two days.
"The JCC leaders and the other employees met here to chalk out future course of action. The meeting was presided over by Rouf Ahmad Bhat, President, Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union. It was decided to launch more serious agitation so that the state government is pressurized to fulfill the genuine demands of government employees," said Gafoor.
Gafoor said that on September 9 there will be protests at Srinagar, Jammu and also in Ladakh. He said Srinagar employees from Kashmir Division will assemble at Sher-i-Kashmir Park wherefrom a peaceful demonstration will move towards Civil Secretariat under the leadership of Sr. JCC leader Abdul Qayoom Wani.
"The employees from Jammu Division will protest at the office of Divisional Commissioner's office. In Srinagar protests would be held both within the Civil Secretariat and outside the Civil Secretariat. Protests would also be held at the various district headquarters across the state and pressure would be built upon the state government to concede the demands of government employees," said Gafoor.

He said JCC would meet once again onSeptember 11 and chalk out future course of action. He said if the state government is serious enough to concede the demands of government employees then they should do it at the earliest without any further delay.

They are also demanding to solve pending issues of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers, Education Volunteers (EVs) migrant substitute teachers, urban local bodies and public sector undertakings.
