JU Council leaves genuine candidates high and dry
Confers benefits on favourites

JAMMU, Sept 2: The Jammu University Council has been accused of conferring benefits on favourites in the form of additional charges as genuine candidates have been left high and dry.
Highly placed sources at University of Jammu informed Early Times that it has caused a widespread resentment among the faculty members who were not availing additional benefits for their services in more than one department.
Documents provided by sources revealed that Director International Centre for Cross-Cultural and Human Resources Management beside others including Prof. JS Tara of department of Zoology holding additional charge of Director Poonch campus, Prof. Dawood working as Incharge coordinator all campuses in addition to Director Reasi campus, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik holding three positions at a time including Prof and HOD Urdu department besides Director Kishtwar campus and Director Centre for professional studies in Urdu, Prof NK Tripathi of department of Zoology holding two additional charges being Dean Student Welfare (DSW), Department of Security and Dean Student Welfares, Department of Student Welfare and Prof. Keshav of Business School working as Chief Coordinator campuses besides holding charge of Rector Udhampur campus are getting 10 percent of their basic salary as honorarium for their additional charges which have been assigned to them by the University administration.
It further revealed that Registrar Jammu University, MK Dhar, Controller Jammu University, Director Colleges Development, Director Sports and Director Staff Colleges are devoid of any such benefits due to the biased move university council. Sources said that lecturers had approached VC, who were working on more than one positions, to make justice with them, but it was decision of university council as whom to pay and whom to not, so their demands were still laying un-settled.
