| Joint protest of BJP, farmers enter second day | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sep 2: To register their anger and resentment against the government for its anti-farmers and anti-border people policies, a joint protest dharna being organized by BJP activists of Kathua and Samba districts at border village of Chachwal in Hiranagar continued for second day today. Led by BJP Senior leader and State Working Committee Member Thakur Ranjit Singh, they were raising slogans against the successive governments in the state which have always ignored and discriminated them. Ranjit Singh, while addressing the border people, said that the Kandi and border areas are worst sufferers of the discriminatory policies of the successive governments in the state. He said that the state government has declared areas near LoC as RBA and has thus been trying to ameliorate the hardship of the people of these areas. He said this has been done on account of the extreme hardship faced by the Indian people on account of aggressive conduct of the Pak army and its response by the Indian security forces. Though the areas near International Border similarly suffer on account of the aggressive conduct of the Pakistani army, yet said areas have not been declared RBA, thereby denying these people hardship amelioration measures on the pattern of areas of LoC. |
