Sports Reporter SRINAGAR, Sept 2: All round performance from Aquib Nazir today guided Kanwal Tigers to a fine 18 runs win against TCI Cheetahs in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Cricket Premier League (JKCPL) at Kashmir University ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Kanwal Tigers set a target of 146 runs for eight wickets, which, in reply, TCI Cheetahs could not chase and bowled out for 127 runs in 18.4 overs. Skipper Parvez Rasool remained top scorer with 41-ball 48 runs while Aqib Nazir (35 off 23 balls, 5x4) and Ishtiaq Ahmed (23 off 19 balls) were other main contributors to the total. From TCI, Manik Gupta and Warris Ahmed took two wickets each. Later, TCI Cheetahs could not control their nerves and bowled out for 127 runs in 18.4 overs. Majid Dar played captain's knock but could not lead his side to win. He made highest 35 runs, followed by Umar Nissar and Hamid Nazir, who contributed 32 and 20 runs respectively. Tale-ender, Iqbal Shah played a pinching knock adding 10-ball 21 runs to the total but it was too late to recover. Manzoor Nath remained most successful bowler from Kanwal Tigers with four wickets. Hanan Mir and Aqib Nazir took three and two wickets respectively. For his all-round performance, Aqib Nazir was declared man of the match while prize for maximum sixes went to Parvez Rasool. |
