JAMMU, Sept 2: Akhnoor zone clinched the kho-kho title while kabaddi final won by Satwari zone in the ongoing inter-zone sports meet of Jammu district in under-19 boys' category under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government High School, Jammu Cantonment, here today.
The competition, conducted by the technical penal, held under the overall supervision of District Officer, Tirath Ram.
KHO-KHO: The kho-kho title went to Akhnoor Zone after they beat Bhalwal zone 11-07. Earlier, in the semifinals, Akhnoor beat Marh zone by one turn and nine points and Bhalwal zone trounced Jammu zone by one turn and two points. Preliminary Round: Balwal Zone bt Satwari Zone 12-02; Akhnoor Zone bt Bishnah 15-03; Jammu Zone bt RS Pura 05-01; Marh bt Khour 09-03.
KABADDI: In boys' kabaddi final, Satwari zone defeated their counterparts from Akhnoor zone 21-12. Semifinals: Akhnoor outplayed Marh zone 13-09 and Satwari downed Khour zone 41-14. Preliminary Round: Marh Zone bt Bishnah 36-19;
Akhnoor bt Jammu 35-11; Satwari bt Bhalwal 09-05; Khour bt RS Pura 35-23.
VOLLEYBALL: The under-19 boys' volleyball Bishnah zone shall take on Khour zone in the final scheduled for tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Khour zone beat Jammu zone 2-0 (25-23, 25-22) while Bishnah defeated Akhnoor 2-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-19. Preliminary Round: Bishnah bt Satwari 2-1; Akhnoor bt R S Pura 2-0; Jammu bt Bhalwal 2-0 and Kour bt Marh zone 2-0.
