| Locals receive electricity bills despite living in 'blackout' | | | early times report
Kathua, Sept 2: More than 150 families of W-8 of Panchayat Bani have been forced to live in total black out due to the negligence of the Power Development Department Bani for the last four months but they are receiving usage bills from the concerned department.
Locals alleged despite several deputations nothing but false assurances till date were doled to them by the higher authorities.
Ashok Kumar Panch Panchayat Bani also lamented that the concerned department i.e. PDD is continually sending electricity bill to its consumers of W-8 Ladmah of Panchayat Bani while they are living without any power supply for the last four months.
Narrating odd experiences of villagers, he said that the 63 KV electric transformer which was installed in the locality went out of order four months back. He warned the PDD authorities if they fail to restore power supply the villagers will be left with no option but to further intensify their protest. |
