early times report Jammu, Sept 2: Two day workshop on role of NSS in Personality Development was organized by the Chairman NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu. According to press release, about 100 NSS volunteers from different departments of the University and affiliated colleges participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu. He called upon the youth to join NSS to develop and enrich their personality which is very important for a successful life. In the first session Dr. Anupama Vohra Fellow at IIAS, Shimla gave a talk on life skills. She talked about the cultivation of positive life skills which help in the development of a holistic personality of the students. Prof. Jasbir Singh gave talk on Role of NSS in personality development for successful adjustments in modern life. In his lecture he stressed that NSS can develop a technique in the personality of every individual to successfully adjust in the modern and stressful life style. Third session was conducted by Captain Parshotam Sharma who stressed on the need of social, extension and reach out activities which are an important component of education in carving out a good personality of volunteers. He gave lively examples to encourage the positive life style of the Youth. Tomorrow the main session of management skills and role of youth services to develop individual's personality will be conducted by Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria. Dr. Rakesh Vaid, Dr. Anju Thappa, Dr seema Rohmitra Dr. Hema Gandotra, Dr. Niharika Subash, Dr. Raj Kumar Sandhu, Arif, Sumeet, Sandeep Bhat, Rabia, Isha, Parveen and other senior NSS volunteers were present in the workshop.
