Jammu, Sept 2: Mother The Nature (MTN) and Urban Forestry Division Jammu today held plantation drive in schools fallin Kaluchak and Ratnuchak aiming to create awareness among the students of rural schools.
At Ratnuchak which falls in Parmandal zone, the joint team covered Government Middle school upgraded from primary level only last year. The school with boundary wall on three sides suffered for long for want of plantation. Noting heartingly the interest shown by school headmaster Naresh Manhas the Urban Forestry Department secured the area through barbed wiring to facilitate plantation work.
At Kaluchak, Government High school though found to possess enviable wide area secured with boundary wall all around, was glaringly found far deficient in vital green cover. SS Bijral IPS, IGP (Rtd) heading the organization MOTHER THE NATURE as its Director General addressed the students separately at both places with intent to plant saplings in young minds to turn them into plant lovers.
