Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: A five delegation of Bharitiya Janta Party (BJP) led by senior party leader from Kishtwar Sunil Sharma today left for New Delhi to interact with Members of Parliament from different political parties and explain to them the factual ground realities of the situation in Kishtwar following the violence on August 9.
Sunil Sharma said that the National President Rajnath Singh gave a patient hearing to what was narrated to him and expressed serious concern over the developments. He said that Rajnath Singh has issued instructions to the party leaders in Delhi to hold meetings with MPs from different political parties and apprise them of the plight of minorities in Kishtwar and high-handedness of Omar-led government in dealing with the situation. He also said that Rajnath Singh has given them an assurance that if BJP is voted to power it will further strengthen the VDCs .
Sunil Sharma informed the National President that none of the demands put forward by the minority community had been fulfilled so far. These included compensation based on assessment of losses, suffered by traders and action / transfer of police officers including DIG against whom there is evidence of having instigated riots and violence against minority community.
He also reiterated the party's demand for special package for relief and rehabilitation of victims. He also informed Rajnath Singh that the development of recent months were a part of a larger conspiracy to import militancy into Kishtwar region from Kashmir valley and to create communal tension resulting in feeling of insecurity among minority communities with a design to engineer their migration on the pattern of the mass exodus of Kashmiri pandit community that took place from Kashmir valley in 1989.
