Compare 3 years' PDP performance with decades long mis-governance of NC: Mufti

RS Pura, Sep 6: Calling upon people to compare three year tenure of the government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with decades' long mis-governance of successive National Conference (NC) regimes, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today regretted that present NC-Congress regime has crossed all limits of corruption and mis-governance in the state. Party observed that present government headed by Omar Abdullah is worst ever corrupt regime the State has witnessed so far since 1947.
Addressing a public meeting at border town of RS Pura connection with the ongoing campaign for Lok Sabha elections, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma asked the people to give a befitting reply to both Congress and NC in the coming elections.
He said that both these parties during the last five years have done nothing to mitigate woes of the people. He predicted that coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections would be proved waterloo for ruling parties because people have realized that they were betrayed by ruling coalition. He said that for years together National Conference has befooled the masses by taking up emotive issues. He reminded the people about decades' long mis-rule of National Conference and cautioned the people against gimmick of this party.
Lambasting NC for befooling the people on emotive issues, he said that except compounding miseries of the masses, successive NC regimes have done nothing for the common people.
He asked the people to compare three year regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with decades' long mis-rule of NC before casting their votes. He said that it was only during the regime of PDP government that discrimination with Jammu was removed. He pointed out that many developmental projects were launched in the remotest and far-flung areas of Jammu region during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayed.
Speaking on the occasion, former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa said that PDP has been pursuing the policy of peace and development and success of PDP candidates was must to continue further accelerate development in backward areas.
Cautioning people against deceit tactics of NC, he said except securing votes by raking up emotions of the people, National Conference leadership has done nothing to ameliorate lot of the people.
Responding to the demands raised by the local people, he assured that problems of refugees would be vociferously raised by PDP in the Parliament. He assured that PDP would incorporate this issue in its agenda and demanded one time settlement of the issue of these refugees.
Earlier rousing reception was accorded to Yash Pal Sharma at R S Pura. A large number of people were gathered to receive Sharma.
Thakur Balbir Singh, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Daman Bhasin, Hamid Chowdhary, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Bhushan Dogra, Chatter Singh Saini, Deepinder Kour, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Sukhvinder Singh and others also spoke on the occasion.
