Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 6: The relations between coalition partners, National Conference (NC) and Congress have hit the rock bottom after four Councilors of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil unit were nominated by Chief Minister without consultation. The Congress leadership is not happy with coalition Partners' attitude and has turned towards central leadership to take a call on the ties with NC in the state. Sources said that the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) leaders have conveyed their grievances to PCC chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary incharge J&K, Ambika Soni about the back stabbing by NC. The Congress party was all set to form the new Council in Kargil after recent elections in which Congress got 10 seats and NC got only 8. Five independent candidates emerged as winners which were proving as game changers. "Congress party had almost got all of them in their side but NC managed to get two councilors to their side, due to which both parties had 13 seats each," sources said. "But at the same time the Chief Minister nominated four councilors, which gave NC an edge over Congress party and now it looks like that NC will again form LAHDC Kargil council with the help of nominated councilors," sources added. The Congress party had gone into a huddle in Kashmir on Friday evening and the future strategy is being chalked out as what to do next. Congress party sources said that if Chief Minister doesn't listens Congress leaders' take on nominated councilors, the PCC leaders will raise this issue with party president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi soon. "This is sure to impact the functioning of State Government where NC and Congress are in coalition. People may see a big decision in near future and if NC didn't listen to Congress, decision on withdrawal of support may be taken," a senior Congress leader said. Now, all eyes are on Chief Minister and Congress central leadership as to how they deal with this matter as anger within PCC is growing and a bold decision is expected in coming days. |
