Police recovers more live SLR rounds after disclosures

Rajouri , Sept 6: Police today recovered some more live rounds of SLR rifle after sustained interrogation of four cops who were arrested by the Rajouri police on September,4 after recovery of two pistols with 2 magazines besides 4 rounds from their possession. Today on disclosures of accused Ishfaq Ahmed police recovered 52 live rounds of SLR rifle from a house in Bhela colony in the heart of old city, police said. Meanwhile all the four cops have been sent to police remand reportedly for 10 days and more recoveries and arrest are expected during next few days. Here it needs to mention that two followers with the police department identified namely as Ishfaq Ahmed s/o Mohd Yusuf of Naka village (Manjakot) and Mohd Zakir s/o Hussain Mohd of Rajdhani (Thanamandi) were arrested along with two Chinese pistols and ammunition on Sept 4. "And duo was booked u/s 7/25 Indian Arms Act (IAA)in FIR No. 464/2013 after a covert operation was launched against tainted duo under the supervision of Danesh Rana, DIG and Mubasir Latifi, SP Rajouri, police said. During sustain interrogation duo revealed the name of Mohd Yusufsio Mohd Ayub resident of Balakot and selection grade constable at SuranKot Police Station and a special police officer (SPO) Mohd Bashir Shah resident of Darana posted at Mendher in Poonch district who was a Pakistan trained ultra. Mohd Bashir Shah had crossed the border for arms training in 1997 along with seven youths and later Shah surrendered before the army on the Line of Control (LoC) alongwith other two colleagues namely Mukhtar Hussain Shah and Shakeel Hussain Shah in August 2000.
