JAMMU, Sept 6 : Jammu University Research Scholar's Executive Association (Jursea) today organized tree plantation drive in Jammu University near girls hostel ground. The programme commenced with ceremonial plantation by Prof MP Singh Ishar Vice-chancellor University of Jammu, who was also the chief guest on the occasion. Students, Scholars of Jammu University showed great enthusiasm in the plantation drive by participating in great numbers. Vice-chancellor advised them to adopt plant saplings in various groups to fulfil this responsibility. He said that forests and human beings are inter dependent for their survival and it was the prime duty of every individual to preserve the forests and plant more and more trees. He appealed to the students to actively work for forest conservation and to spread the message of environmental protection in the society. He impressed upon the youth to channelize their energy and act as agents of change in the face of prevailing environmental degradation. President of Jursea Rakesh Chib said that "Environment Pollution" has become a great health hazard and time has come to start planting of trees on large scale. "Trees check pollution and protect environment. One person, one tree, should be our slogan" he added. Prof Naresh Padha, Prof.V D Singh Director DDE, Jai Kumar Sharma Special Secretary TO VC,Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. B. Labh HOD Buddhist Studies, Dr.Vikas Sharma, Vinay Thusoo PRO, Dr.Maqeem Ansari, Dr.Vishal Pathania, Akshey Sharma Jt. Secretary Jursea, Sukhdev Singh, Sunny Babber, Sonal, Nisha,Inderjeet Kour were present during the plantation drive.
