Jammu, Sept 6: Scores of activists of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) along with students of SPMR College of Commerce and GDC, Paloura today staged a strong demonstration against the state government for not showing any serious concern over the spurt in the rape cases and demanded immediate action against the persons who were involved in sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girls. The protestors along with the students of both the colleges boycotted their classes and gathered in the college ground. In SPMR College of Commerce, classes were boycotted under the leadership of Nitesh Singh Langeh. Students after boycotting their classes gathered and raised slogans against state government for not showing any serious concern over the increasing rape cases in the state. "After passage of near about 5 year, three accused of raping a girl at Narwal are roaming scot free while the victim had also died mysteriously", said Nitesh. Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion Chitwan Khosla and Anjli Choudhary, student leaders stated that the delaying policy of the state government for conviction of the rape accused will not be tolerated anymore and the student community will not sit idle now. In GDC Paloura, students under the leadership of Sunil Mandla boycotted their classes and the rally of SPMR College of Commerce joined the students of GDC Palloura. While addressing both the students of GDC and SPMR college of commerce, Partap Singh, State President NPSU stated that it is very shameful for our society some touts has not even spared the mentally challenged girls. Police should immediately take action and convict all the accused involved in the sexually exploitation of the mentally challenged girls. Partap also said that in the year 2008, a woman was gang raped by three persons who are still roaming scot free even after the mysterious death of the victim. He warned the state government to take immediate action against all the pending rape cases in the state including 2008 Narwal case. Sanjay Sharma, Nitish Sharma, Rohit Charak, Shakti, Anup Bandhal and others also spoke on the occasion. |
