| Protest staged after Labourer killed at Mogla coalmine | | | ET Report
Rajouri, Sept 7: Labourers and family members staged massive protest after a labourer reportedly was killed at Mogla coalmine in Thriat area of Rajouri district while working at the mine site. Reports said that a casual labourer Suram Chand son of Balak Ram was killed after a rope of the trolleys broke due to a technical snag and these fall upon him resulting into his death on spot.Agitated labourers and the family members started protest against the concerned authorities and demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh and a permanent job to next to family. Meanwhile the work remained paralyzed whole day as the body of deceased was kept inside the coalmine by other workers as a protest who were demanding senior officers including Managing Director (MD) of Coalmines Kalakote to listern to their grievances and problems. Ex- president Coal Mines Thriat Ramesh Chander said that employees are still protesting, but no government official yet reached to the spot. |
