| Chaman demands relief for rain affected people | | | Jammu, Sept 7 : Former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has impressed upon the ruling leaders to take early steps to provide succor to the badly affected poor lot by the incessant rains and floods instead of just extending lip sympathy and indulging in mere promises. In a statement issued, Prof. Gupta said that the furry of the nature have caused great damages and created many problems for the poor people. Many houses as also roads and bridges have been damaged and also badly affected the kharief crops, especially in the low lying areas bordering Pakistan and in several hilly areas. But it is a pity that in certain far flung areas even the losses have not been assessed. He pointed out that even in Jammu City including Jammu west constituency the roads and drains have been badly damaged. The nallahas have created a hell of the situation and foul smell is making the life miserable. |
